- Force a Knockout Match vs the Gin Kings -

Besides converting 12 of their 20 three-point attempts [Ginebra converted  only 8 of 30!] , Luigi Trillo's boys dish out 24 assists [to Ginebra's 14] and while getting 29 two-pt. field goal attempts [Ginebra had 26] - also register a better field goal % over-all  [49.4% , as compared to Ginebra's 40.5%].

Among other things, too, the Aces take Barangay Ginebra out of their comfort zone - consistently disrupting the Gin Kings' rythm. Even while Aguilar {Japeth plays 45 minutes total!}  manages 22 points [to lead all scorers] - The Pampangueno has to bleed for every single basket.

The only department where Ginebra beats Alaska, is in the blocks department [Ginebra-4 blocks / Alaska-0 ].

The Aces function like a well-oiled machine. They rotate the ball much better [sharper, crispier passes] - so it ends up in the hands of an open man, more often than not.

Seconds after the final buzzer, Calvin Abueva is grinning from ear to ear - and just before he exits the MoA Arena, Dondon Hontiveros is bright-eyed and can't help but be confident about Saturday's Knockout Match.

The Gin Kings and Aces will figure in a Do-or-Die match at the 

Cuneta Astrodome on Saturday, Jan.25. Game starts at 4:00 p.m..
