{ enduring a punishing workout }

and Breaking a Sweat

{ on the Seventeenth }

- at SPARTA

Schedule permitting - I returned to SPARTA {Pioneer St., Mandaluyong}

 [earlier this evening] to attend  -> [7-8 and 9-10 pm] two 1-hour Khalos classes at the Calisthenics Gym. 

Simply want to share, here, a photo or two of the 9-10 pm group - that I broke a sweat {an understatement like no other} with, and endured with, the Punishing exercises of the said Khalos class [under the tutelage of Mau Gonzaga].

Two Lucky Nines ? [revised]

from the UFL Doubleheader

October 16 - Rizal Stadium

No, I wouldn't say they are lucky [just wanted a catchy title].

Stallions FC's #9 Ruben Doctora and Ceres-La Salle's #9 Adrian Gallardo both work hard [w/ the help of their team mates] to score - both drawing first blood for their their teams.

 Ruben Doctora #9 [in red] drills the ball up the left corner of the goal.

The speed and trajectory of the ball 
is just too much for GAU keeper #22 Kim Versales to handle.

{ Stallions - 1 / Green Archers United - 0 }  14th minute

 Adrian Gallardo #9 [black] sends this one over Global keeper [green] Deyto 

[catching Patrick in the wrong foot] - to score Ceres' first goal.

{ Ceres - 1 / Global - 0 }  {38th minute}

 Jeffrey Christiaens #28 [despite the tenacious Global D]

with barely a micro-micro-second to spare,

releases this "prayer of a shot".

The ball sails just past the [upper left corner] of the goal.

Global keeper Deyto leaps and streches but fails to deflect the sphere.

The photo above captures Deyto, at the peak of his jump.

The ball is not caught in the image -

 as it is already about to hit the right goal post {upper right corner}.

I obviously am not that fast to capture that CLIMACTIC moment ...

... as in, follow the path of the ball from the time it leaves Christiaensen's foot
 ->all the way up past the upper left corner till it hits the right goal post to
RICOCHET IN !   for point #2 
{ Ceres - 2 / Global - 0 }  {42nd minute}
 
{ hoping to capture that decisive moment 
when Deyto's hands MIGHT touch/deflect the sphere }
Unfortunately - It doesn't happen. 

My next immed' image, is that of a frustrated Deyto lying on the ground - realizing that his best efforts, again, fail to prevent a Ceres goal

[ this time, Ceres' second - as Global remains scoreless ].

It's  d' Hair  ......

It's interesting to note how one "seemingly insignificant" detail can make an otherwise simple photo, at least,  a little better {hey, why not?} - Not that this image is that great, or outstanding by any big measure.

[And notice too, that water bottle at the bottom right of the photo ... same thing - tho, in the "photo bomber context".] - [I shouldda noticed that, my bad]

Noticing, in hindsight, details ["good or bad"] in my images - simply teaches me [makes me] a better photog, even if only in the minutest of increments.

But that's just me.

I am work in progress.

Juts thinking out aloud here - OK ?

Now, about the photo .....

Took this group shot after that gruelling, "pamatay" Khalos workout [at SPARTA] under the tutelage of our Gym Guru -> Mau Gonzaga [w/ cap].

"Endured" the [9-10 pm] workout alongside Patty O. [w her lil ponytail], and some relatively new "recruits" from Accenture. 

For me, the best part of any workout is the finish - knowing I've tried my best to complete the routines/exercise and everybody in the class is just so relieved that "it's done" !

For me ->Fresh fruit, cold juice - maybe a chocolate bar to follow - Shit !

After i tweaked the tones of the UP Pep Squad dance photo [below] - I immed' wanted to share the image in facebook. 

The words, to accompany the image - they came so effortlessly out from my psyche - and I'm simply posting the same word-picture combo here - ALBEIT, this time - complemented by  a few random favorites - ALL crafted that Saturday afternoon, Oct.8, at the MoA Arena.

How ever these mixed [and mismatched ?] images come across - or how my opening lines might sound outright silly and ridiculous - 
i simply can't care less.

Blackbird Fly

It is World Poetry Day  .....

......  so what more appropo image, at least for me, to download, and share -
 than an archival 1965 film photo of Sir Paul ?

"Half of what I say is meaningless   .... but i say it just to reach you .... Julia  .... "

Those lines are from "Julia", which is on the Beatles White Album 
[along with "Blackbird"]

Wether it is "good" poetry or "bad" poetry one articulates  .... poetry will always be poetry.

What matters is the dare, the effort to dig deep into one's psyche  .... face one's demons, fears, hurts, vulnerabilities, strengths, hopes and fears ..... one's humanity [so to speak] and simply articulate it  ...... and somehow make this world a better place to be in [at that]

Not necessarily through the written word .... tho.
We are composers, writers, scriptwriters, sculptors, oil painters, novelists,  journalists, landscape artists, vocalists, portrait photographers   ... and what we do - to express - in our own unique ways is our poetry.

They say "it's only real when it hurts" or "do it til it hurts"  ..... Does ring true indeed.

Now, don't ask me why - i just know that that is the way art becomes art.
It has to be real, it has to come from the heart - or the gut, even - it has to entail risk, mind you - simply because we are human.

But, ey, that's just me. 

You will find your art in your own unique way. Do it. Share it, make a fool of yourself, even - occasionally - if it even goes to that point.

As long as you are true to yourself - it'll be OK.

but managed to capture Nokor's first two goals.
