Games 6 & 7
Governor's Cup Finals
Rain or Shine vs B-Meg
Being occupied with 2 short trips abroad the past months, I missed a big chunk of the PBA Semis and Finals, which needed a Game 7 to decide the Champion. With my commitments at the UAAP last August 5, Sunday, I even barely caught the 4th Quarter of Game 7. Anyways, here are a few shots from Games 6 & 7.
Game 6
Aug. 3, Friday
Down But Not Out
With his B-Meg in a Must-Win situation, James Yap delivers, as expected.
Assist
Yap is ably supported by PJ Simon [#8], shown above and below,
kicking the ball out to James Yap.
The B-Meg LLamados simply play better as a team.
They repeatedly find ways to neutralize the Rain or Shine D.
#18 vs #18
Rain or Shine Go-To-Guy, Arana, drives against B-Megs's own Go-To-Guy,Yap.
Robin ?
Batman ?
Game 7
Aug.5, Sunday
New Father - New Champion
I had a brief conversation with Gabe Norwood sometime last May.
Then, he mentioned to me that his wife Leah had just
delivered their 2nd boy.
His name is Orion.
Finals MVP - Jeffrei Chan
Parang Patintero
Elasto Painter Cornley tries to outmanuever Marcus Blakely.
Do you know that saying "magpalit kayo ng mukha" ??
That's exactly what seems to be happening [ Ha !] here
as Mark Barocca sticks like a leech to TY Tang.

Crucial Foul
A microsecond after this shot was taken, Blakely [#23] fouled Gabe Norwood, [one can see part his left hand on the right] who managed to gain possesion of the offensive rebound. Blakely fouled out as a result.
Sure, It wan't impossible for B-Meg to manage without their prized import,
but Yap and Simon missed the BIG shots in the end game, and the Elasto Painters' mental toughness and character eventually won them the Gold.
Rain or Shine truly deserved the Governor's Cup Championship.
Coach Yeng Guia's boys managed to win Game 7 with Paul Lee on the bench.
Congrats again to Rain or Shine for defying the odds !!
