I Like Taking Pictures At Night
- at Emperador Stadium, that is ..
minsan .. masarap magkodakan sa gabi ..
Went to Emperador Stadium to check out the UFL Match between the Sparks and the Stallions - Came early so I caught the tail end of the match between Team Socceroo and Green Archers United. During the 2nd half of that game, as I was chatting with Greggy Yang and Tola Orendain [pictures below], I somehow managed to capture in my camera, an unfortunate incident where an athlete got injured, during play, and eventually had to be brought by an ambulance to St. Luke's - writhing in excrutiating pain - with a dislocated knee cap [left foot].
Very unfortunate indeed .... What can I say, except wish the dude well, pray that his injury will eventually NOT require surgery ... and that in due time he recover ...
Besides that - My Tuesday night was pretty much about trying to MANAGE decent Football Action Shots with a 100mm lens [ As I've stated before, my [baby] Canon 100-400 mm telephoto-zoom lens is still at the Canon Service Center - {awaiting spare parts from Japan} ]
But then - As usual - It's those impromptu photo opps that presented themselves ---
when I bumped into long-time acquaintances - like Neil Lasan, Tasha Alquiros, Greggy Araneta, Renz Ongkiko, Belay Fernando ..... or more recent ones like Ryan Fenix, Valeen Montenegro or Joanna Ignacio ..... and with the open space, fresh air, the absence of "city noise" --
that again made my day - er, in this case, - night "more blogworthy".
OK lang talaga mag "Kodakan" sa labas, sa gabi, maslalo na kapag maliwanag ang mga ilaw .

Don't go that often, particularly at night, to Emperador [as compared to Araneta or Moa Arena]. Here's the thing, tho - Emperador, at night, as far as ambient lighting is concerned - has it's own unique characteristics [nuances] - and it's those characteristics that I like working, and playing with, whilst "painting" my subjects w/ light - wether they be footballers competing, or just people watching the games. The lower temperatures at night also makes for added comfort
And, as I suggested in a previous post - Real, Effective, Smart Photography Starts with "Seeing Things in a Different Light" - Every Now and Then ...
