My Roots

First Love Never Dies

No doubt, I love Sports Imagery [a fancy name for sports photojournalism] - but if you just look down three pictures onward - you will notice my early work ->Film Photography [mixed up w my current digital photography].  Yes, when I started teaching myself  Portraiture over a decade ago - I knew that I would I'd fallen for it - and still fall in love with it everytime I do it. My other journey, into Sports Photography started much, much later, around January of 2009.  I live and breathe Sports photojournalism -- It IS exciting and has given me opps to travel - but - ->Available Light Portraiture [which I don't do as often as sports these days] - I Adore it.
It has a soulfulness all it's own !  Eye Like !!!

FYI - ALL images here were taken w a DSLR -> Unless otherwise noted

Even in the most unassuming or seemingly mundane settings - with a good eye AND understanding of the nuances of light - one can create an image with a High Level of Technical AND Artistic Competence - My Criteria for a Good Photograph.  I shot this backlit, available light image of these UST students while they were hanging out after a softball match at the [hopelessly neglected] Rizal Stadium [photo taken about two years ago].

Yes, I used to do the "Rock Thing" - once upon a time [above] - and do the "Celeb Thing" occasionally [below] [ I hate using flash!] but if ever I do, it usually involves a sports figure.
