Game Over !

The end-game has an inbound pass {by Mac Baracael} - intercepted - and
this sequence eventually becomes the "game decider". Baracael can only momentarily glance at the PLDT logo [under the basket], realizing it his errant pass [or is Tenacious D by San Mig?] that turns the game around. But, Hey - One can't rightfully blame someone's single error for a game loss - Everybody makes errors !! - Baracael's just [so] happens at crucial point in the match.

Cassius, Tyrese, Amara, and Nace

Why Not See Things
"In a Different Light" ?

I like playing it "smart", when it comes to people photography.  Playing it smart,  for me - is just being a little more patient, being so much more observant, always looking for those "moments that people usually don't notice/ let alone consider picture worthy" - {in a manner of speaking} ..... Constantly taking notice how ambient light illuminates the people [and environment] around me  .... hoping for that elusive "ya-got-only-one-shot-so ya-gotta-get-it-right"  photo opp that might just present itself  ... any moment

and when that moment comes - I simply have to act fast.

Sometimes, I do miss out on such opps {cos of hesitation or, even, shyness}... and At times I do mange to catch such moments  ....

These are the kids of Rain or Shine Elasto Painters
---> Gabe Norwood, TY Tang and Jeffrei Chan.

Gabe's son is Cassius [in stripes] [fondly called "Cash"], TY's son is Tyrese [on light blue] [did I get that right ?], and Jeff's daughter is Amara.

I met Gabe and wife Lei way back summer of 2011 {simply because I would often steal snaps of then, months old Cassius - during PBA matches}. Met Donna Chan only a week ago, and maybe soon I'll get to meet TY. - Why Not ?

January 29 - {around noon time}

I'm re-editing this post NOW - by adding this On-the-Spot Available Light Portrait of my nephew. Snapped it, just as he was about to leave for school - after tying his shoe laces whilst seated at the bottom of the stairs.

I, myself, was about to leave too - but when I saw the backlighting of the sun - on the stairs - and on my nephew  .... {Nice play of Light !!} -- I felt my Creative Juices suddenly surge !!

Like I said- Ya gotta play it Smart, and Fast - before fleeting "seemingly mundane" moments..... {that can make for dramatic/skillful images]
..... just whizz away ....

PBA Quarters - San Mig vs Talk n Text - Game 3

January 26, Sunday, Cuneta Astrodome
San Mig Dethrones Talk n Text
[90-82]

Last Call for the Texters
Ranidel de Ocampo [in white] converts this three - to forge the Last Deadlock, at 82-All [with less than two minutes left in the match] Talk n' Text is never able to score after this three, as the Coffee Mixers rack up 8 straight points and the Texters miss repeatedly.

Photo #1

Photo #2

This 4-frame sequence [2 photos above and 2 photos below] show a drive by Jayson Castro [#17] that results in a Non-Call AND a Defensive rebound by San Mig Coffee

Photo # 3

Photo # 4

At the ensuing play, a Coffee Mixer [I can't recall who] drives and scores. Talk n' Text is slapped a foul - so a bonus free throw is given San Mig [and is converted] - putting the Mixers ahead by three  [85-82].

Look Again at Photo #3 -  No Brainer Bro !-
It shouldda been a foul on Barroca.

What Do You Think ?

Anyway , here are just a few more [randomly mixed] images from the 3rd and 4th Qtr [only].  Fact is, I arrive at the Cuneta at halftime [rushing in from an HDVideo shoot at Emperador Stadium at BGC]

Mark Barroca on Defense.

Barroca's [#14] Double-Double Performance [18 pts + 12 boards] [add 5 assists and 2 steals to that!] does Tell on the Texters.

Mark Pingris [#15]  defends  Ranidel de Ocampo [left photo] and
grabs a Defensive rebound [right photo]

Danny Siegle [#42]

Veterans de Oacmpo [#33] and Castro [#17]
lead the Texters with 22 and 14 pts respectively.

In the final desperate possessions - ALL the Texters' Threes all rim out.

Chris Ellis [#34] - 16 pts.  /  Mac Baracael [#45] - 12 pts.

Calvin Abueva [#8] has this "bad habit of flailing his arms" during and "after" defensive sequences  .....This 5-frame sequence [3 photos above and 2 below] shows Abueva fouling Greg Slaughter [#20].  Sonny Thoss [#7] fronts Greg and tries to swat the ball away, but it is Abueva [as he goes down], w/ his right right hand, that takes Slaughter down.

- Big Men - Big Slams -

Lest we forget - this dude misses all his 5 field goal attempts [11 minutes of play] but hauls down 6 boards - of which 4 are Offensive !
