Thoughts on Christmas

Each to His Own

- Humility and  Hope -

- and a most Evocative Image ......

No,  no , no - not this one above
ha ha ah - I'm just humoring you guys
It's the one below

I've actually posted the image [below] twice already !!!  in this blog, and only recently, too, in my Instagram page [FYI - I took this image way back December of 2013].

And as much as I've looked to craft a more powerful, evocative image - 10X, even 100X better !!  than this one - the "Sampaguita Vendor" street photo below STILL is the most truthful, accurate expression as to HOW Christmas Hits Me, resonates in my heart [of hearts] - all the way into the very recesses of my soul - if I may say so - ha ha ha ...

Seriously --- It is truly that simple bro.

NOT about gifts, prosperity, coolest gadgets, fancy trips, the most abundant of Noche Buenas, professional stature, having loads of cash  - or anything physically tangible ----- {NOT that i have anything against such ! - ha} -----   by any measure ........

....... and Surely tho - reaffirming bonds with family and true friends MATTERS BIG TIME to me -

but still, on a different level/frequency tho........

... as [hopefully] conveyed by the following  picture-words combination    ......

-----

{  FYI,  To caption my "Sampaguita Vendor" street portrait,
if i may call it that - I borrowed several phrases -------

[several phrases that, admittedly ALWAYS {ALWAYS!} hits me REAL HARD
- seduces my whole emotional psyche - and takes me ta place that   .....  .....
- in a way like no other - I    F______  g  Kid You Not !!]

----- fr the X'Mas carol- "Oh Holy Night"
--> plus a few words that so easily flow [from me] whenever I see this photo}

.....   a thrill of hope
a weary world rejoices
.....   on yonder breaks
a new and glorious morn .....

Fall .....    on your knees

Oh Hear .....   the angel voices  .....

Oh,  Ni - ight    Di - vine

Oh - ho   Night,  when Christ was born

Oh,  Night    Di-vi-i-ine
    Oh,   Night Divine   .....

 -----------

Humility and Hope   ....

hope amidst poverty
 hope against fear
hope despite anger { endless quarrels }
- and heartbreak

hope --- despite promises unkept
committments forgotten

hope despite deep betrayal

hope despite friendships given up on
relationships let go off

despite arrogance and {simply too much}  pride
hope amidst unforgiveness

amidst broken marriages and families
and children abandoned

hope despite fear of rejection
hope despite the lack of courage ---
--- to try again -- after repeated failures

hopes despite shattered dreams .....
hope against the seemingly insurmountable

Hope Springs Eternal .....

 and
 ..... for ALL that is
inherently pure, beautiful, true
and good
inside of us ALL  ......

do have a soulful holiday season and a wonderful new year ahead you guys !
