Lady Tams vs Lady Maroons - Round 1

Last Sunday, March 6 - McKinley Field

 Last Season's Finalists
Meet Again

Not Surprisingly,
Cristina de los Reyes [a former Rookie of the Year] [in white],
was marked - from minute one till the final whistle -
But I sure did not see that horrible end-game tackle comin !

A few randomly sequenced action shots follow below  ...

Save and counter save -

End-Game Tackle
 I so Hope the "Karma Gods" saw this one
[below]
- I  SWEAR  !!!

 W   T    F  !!!!

A  F _____ !!   Inexcusable Non-Call if ever I saw one
- after this !!!

 I was a micro second late and off focus as UP striker
Cristina de los Reyes took a horrible fall after an
unsportsmanlike, dangerous tackle by a Lady Tam.

At least, one can get a sense of how BAD the tackle was -
and how the refs' non-call could only add insult
to the resulting injury

EMF ! - Excuse My French but ....
Pooh  !  {yes, I mean "pooh" !} - Tang Ina !

Former UAAP Champion {DLSU} and Finals MVP Sam Nierras,
{along with her dad, Coach Ernie Nierras [Stallions FC Head Coach]}
could only stand and stare.
FYI, Lady Maroon {sophomore} Sabrina Nierras
is Sam's younger sister

Final - { FEU-1    UP-0 }
 Marie consoles team mate Martha

 The Lady Maroons
face the erstwhile unbeaten Lady Archers this Saturday, March 12
{Now, both Cali and Cristina are on the injured list}

 - The Unsaid -
Mary Rose

- The Injured -
 Cristina

She was in tears as she was slowly being wheeled of to the ambulance,
- with mom Gigi and brother Manu, in tow.

But Coach Anto Gonzales' charges ain't called
 the Fighting Lady Maroons for nothing.

 I am expecting a well-fought UP-DLSU match
{hopefully - competently officiated}
on Saturday.
