Cheering for "Blood"

El Capitan

Nace Gonzales is my brother's first born, ergo, he is my nephew.

Way back summer of 2000 - I accompanied him to his First Ever, Literally ! Football class, as in session #1 ! {at the Southridge basketball court}  - and did actually take 35mm film photos of that first class.

And through over a decade plus, since - I bore witness, mostly trying to immortalize, through photography -  Film-wise then, way back early 2000s, and Digitally, since I had my first DSLR [2008 na yon] - his Football Odyssey, in a manner of speaking.

Fast-Forward to yesterday's UAAP clash between DLSU and UP - Nace, currently being Co-Captain with Gelo Diamante  ....

These days ..... ALL I can Do is, Keep my distance, Wish him Well, Pray that he be spared from debilitating injury, Cheer him on - and that he eventually Win a UAAP Championship, and in the process Simply be a Better Person 100-1000X over - on AND off the playing field.

Course, gotta find a way, by some measure to immortalize some of his finer moments - in his last two playing ears as a Green Archer ...

 Simple yet Difficult

Yesterday's loss, DLSU's second one in a row, this Season 78 - did Test, IS Testing, Nace's [and the Green Archer Team's] Resiliency and Character.

Most of the Mens' UAAP Football Teams pretty much have a chance to make it to the top two spots in the standings - But at this point [2nd Round] - every single Win, more so, Loss - can just as simply mean the end of a team's season, in one afternoon.

But like I said - All I can do is watch, and strive to get great images of my nephew - on and off the field.

We ALL just gotta get stand up after every fall - as always.
Sports will always be one helluva great metaphor for Life.

Now, Anything Can and Will happen, at the 2nd Round of the UAAP Football Tourney.

When Good simply doesn't make the grade - and whennothing less than Great and or Excellent {near flawless executions } - Everything, and Even More - is demanded { frm each individual and/or team } - It Simply Gets Too Tough ...

 But Then .....

When the Going Gets Tough -
The Tough Get Going !

God Speed  Nace !
