Yesterday, Sunday there were 4 matches

{UST  vs  UP - UAAP Mens' Basketball -1st Round}

{FEU  vs  DLSU - UAAP Mens' Basketball - 1st Round}

{UST vs ADMU - Shakey's V League - Semifinals}

{DLSU vs ADMU - PFF Womens' Cup Semifinals} 

that I would have LOVED to watch, IF ONLY, they were to be held hours apart [AS IF !].  Thing is,  three of them were scheduled for 4 pm {MoA Arena, San Juan Arena, Rizal Stadium}, while one was scheduled for 2 pm {MoA Arena}.

Days earlier, tho - my mind was already made up - To stay in one venue [Rizal Stadium] to watch, and cover the 4 pm football match between Ateneo and La Salle.

Game Clincher in the 85th

With about 5 minutes left in that match, a mental lapse by Ateneo, resulted in a steal by the Archers - and in a matter of seconds - the lady booters from Taft had an almost impossible lead to erase {1-0} [given the time left]. 

The stunned Ateneans never managed to equalize [though we know - stranger things have happened] - forging a DLSU-FUE Championship showdown [scheduled for Sept.20].

 So much for those pulsating moments in that match  [above]    .....

FYI, Before AND after that football match - Had opps to craft some Behind-the Scenes imagery - Stuff that I value as much [more, even, on occasion] as action photography.

In more ways than one - It is always TOUGH on any athlete to accept heart-breaking loss {most specially, after you've played your guts out, and still loose } [we're talkin "one-chance-is-all-ya-get-to-enter-the-Championship-Round"]. 

I've witnessed many an athlete, in moments of  "extreme inconsolable distress"  {for lack of a better descript} - and being up-close-and-personal w the Lady Eagles {for the past sev years, now} -   Post-Game, again, I was Hidden In Plain Sight, and was afforded the Choice, and the Challenge - to photojournalize --->albeit, WITH a good measure of Tact, Discretion and Sensitivity.

The narrow-minded can always say that I'm "taking advantage of other people's misfortune [or bad moments]"  ---   mind you !  I am not.

Just have to be more deliberate n' discreet  [triggger-happy don't work here !],  being given certain photo opps.

..... Here then, are my [mentioned] "pre-game images" - Thing IS - They were taken before the game [duh !! ] but NOT amongst the athletes at Rizal, but rather - 

at the Clash-of-Clans Event at the Glorietta Activity Center.  I actually stole time, off my sked - to spend brief {as in Hit-and-Run} fast minutes at the said venue - To meet, greet [and chat] with a Wizard, an Archer and an Emcee !
