2013 Fil-Oil Flying V Basketball Tournament
May 1
Arena, San Juan

Working Wednesday
Work can be so much tougher at times, specially when one is distracted with serious personal matters. Well, that's how May, unfortunately, starts for me.  But Work IS Work - and it as to be done No Matter What  - even  if "your cat dies" or other concerns eat you up inside.  I come into the San Juan Arena heavy hearted - but, as I just stated - but Work IS Work - so I just try my darn best to finish mine well.  Here are some "nutshell photo souvineirs" from the first two [of three] matches I covered that day.

Final
South Western University - 80     Emilio Aguinaldo Colleges - 75

Landy Sanjo [#16] [in black] defends [above and below]

On the offensive side - Sanjo delivers 23 for SWU.

Final   [Overtime]
San Sebastian - 89     UE - 87

Not surprisingly, Red-Red Warrior Roi Sumang [#6]
leads his team with 23 big ones.

Big rookie Charles Mammie [#13] gives the Red Warriors the momentum and early lead during the OT period - but crucial turnovers by UE eventually cost the Red Warriors the match.  Mammie combines with Sumang for 43 points.  Both score 23 each.

UE Red Warrior Chris Javier's [#11] 12 points is two points shy behind Jay-ar Sumido [who scores 14] and two rebounds shy of Mammie's 9 boards.

Jaymark "CJ" Perez [right], leads the Golden Stags
in scoring with 20 points.

Leo de Vera [#21] drives against Adrian Santos [#9] of UE

Golden Stag [#21] Leo de Vera's impressive 3-point barrage in the 4th Qtr brands make him a deadly threat come the NCAA wars in July.  Leo totals 20 points for San Sebastian.

[This recruit from the US of A will play for only a year for San Sebastian.]

Jaymark 'CJ" Perez, Leo de Vera, Jovit de la Cruz, and Bradwyn Guinto combine for 69 of of the Golden Stags game total of 89.

[FYI - Baste has a total of 10 rookies in this years roster]
