 2013 Fil-Oil Basketball Tournament
Arena, San Juan
Tigers Take Two Straight

The UST Growling Tigers beat the San Sebastian Golden Stags [83-79] on a Friday [May 10] and the Letran Knights [78-77] on a Saturday to bring their W-L card to 3-2.

In both matches, Kevin Ferrer scores double figures.
Kevin puts in 10 against Baste and 15 against Letran.

Aljon Mariano, meanwhile leads UST in scoring in the back-to-back wins
with 23 against Baste and 18 against Letran.
[2 photos below - Baste game]

Karim Abdul [#20] scores 14 vs Baste. The Cameroonian misses the Letran match [He arrives at Arena during the 3rd Qtr. - He thought the game would be at 12:45 - the UST-Letran started game at 12 noon]

In the UST-Letran match, Clark "Tata" Bautista [#9] chips in 17 [second to Mariano's 18]  - None is more game changing than his drive from the right which puts UST ahead by one [after a dramatic comeback, punctuated by Letran turnovers] ] with only 3.1 ticks left.  [I do not get a photo of that conversion]

Bautista converts 3 of his 8  rainbow attempts.

He makes 4 of his 8    2-point attempts.

Jamil Gabawan [#15] delivers 13 points for Letran
and leads the reboundng with 10 boards.

Raymond Almazan [#17] leads the scoring for Letran with 17 markers.
He pulls down 10 boards.

 Along with Almazan's 17Gabawan's 13 - Mark Cruz' 13 points
all add up to 43 of Letran's game total of 77.
Here, Cruz drives and dishes out.

A non-call on UST - where Almazan is fouled on a rebound play.

With 3.1 ticks left -the Knights go to Mark Cruz for the game winner -
No Go - Cruz misses. Tigers by one [78-77]

After the UST-Letran match,
the Knights also hold a  3-2  W-L slate.
