Yalin World 10-Ball

Pool Portraits

I attended the Press Brief of the Yalin World 10-Ball Women's Championships last Sunday, Aug. 19, at the Crown Plaza and made my first acquaintances in the world of pool.  Come Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday I shot my my first ever pool photographs.  Did some action photos, of course,  but the  slow pace of pool simply offered too many opps for me to take "sportraits", for lack of a better term.  Just had a nice time shooting the world class lady pool players.
Here are some [randomly arranged] favorites of mine.

Jasmin Ouschan [Austria]
Jasmin is a crowd favorite.  She competed in Manila last year.

Jasmin breaks !

Mirjana Grusijic [Venezuela]

Mirjana concentrates.

Kelley Fisher [The Defending Champ] awaits her turn.

 Kelley Fisher takes aim.

Bob Guerrero & BBoy Enriquez do their part.

Anthony Suntay with Kelley Fisher

 Anthony on the sidelines

Anthony with Pan Xiao Ting

 Future Champion ??
This is the 13-year old who qualified for the tourney.
She is a 5th Grader who hails from Zamboanga.

Cheska Centeno, gets her first taste of the
World 10-Ball Competition at such a tender age.

She probably can't even believe it - Huh ?

 Russian pool player
[forgot her name]

The World Champion vs the 13 yr old Rookie.

During "Win-or-Go-Home" Thursday, Cheska finally gets to match her skills
vs former former World Champion Rubilen Amit.
I manage to illicit a few giggles in this post match snap.

FYI, My absolute favorite is - - -

 Pan Xiao Ting [China]

- I Pine For You, Pan  -
I'm just so terribly infatuated with this Lady.
Pan, with your cherry red lips and deep eyes of blue  Yeah, Right -
[brought about by the refection of blue pool table felt].

Pan, with her trademark crinkle above her right eyebrows, takes aim.

My best action image of Pan Xiao Ting.

Two more Oriental Beauties grace this post [below].

Jasmin Ouschan whoops it up after eliminating an opponent during
"Win or Go Home" Thursday.
Ouschan is, too, knocked out of the race, later on the same day.

Korean Cuties ?   or

K  Pop ?
Call it what you like.
Yes, those Chinese and Korean ladies, have an appeal,
all their own -  Have to See it To Believe It -
Pero - sa Pinay pa rin ako.

[Thing is, I missed the final day of the competition
due to a previously arranged appointment at the Ateneo]
