Blue Eaglets

Pancho's Jose Shoots 100%
Boouuyyaahh !!

 Screaming Eagles !!!
101st Airborne !!!

 - Mark Nieto and Jose Escaler -
[August 3, Arena, San Juan]
[The Eaglets vs the Tiger Cubs]

I've spent, probably, a grand total of less than 25 minutes or so shooting the Ateneo Blue Eaglets, in the whole of Round 1 of the UAAP Basketball Tournament, as of late.  Yes, I did cover ALL the 28 matches of the Seniors Division [UAAP Basketball is on a break until Aug. 13 - To give way to the ongoing FIBA Tournament] - and that amounts to 832 official game minutes plus 15 extra from the 3 OverTimes = 847 minutes. !  Whew !

As far as the Junior Eaglets are concerned - I was just glad to have had Xtra time to catch them, last Saturday - in their final 1st Rnd match, vs the UST Tiger Cubs.

Time to shoot my favored Junior Teams ??- > the Eaglets, Baby Tams, Junior Archers, the Bullpups ---never really had it - considering my other Non-photography related priorities - and now , with the 2nd Round about to commence next week, and me,  slated to officially cover another Tournament [not basketball]  -  It'll be a matter luck and circumstance as to which Juniors Matches  I will be able to shoot [Not to mention the Womens' Semis AND Finals games which  I'd like to shoot, too]

Anyway -- goin back to that ADMU vs UST Juniors match -
What I remember is  -  -  -  Bullet points wise  -  -  -

The Eaglets won the match, coming from behind as much as 10 points,    [thereabouts]. Still can't remember the Final tally, tho [as I type this].

Jose Escaler [#12] scored two treys and a twinner [from 3 attempts -
to register a 100% field goal clip!!]

At the height of the Ateneo rally, his second three pointer actually tied the match [62 all],  with 3:45 left in the 4th [if memory serves me right].

UST's Dandan was just Deadly from rainbow - but one or two turnovers by the Tiger Cubs in the end-game did them in.

Signed -  Sealed - Delivered !!

Eaglet frontman Mark Nieto [#7], though, not at his best that pm,
delivered the game clincher in the final minute. [photo above]

 Drive and Draw

Mark Nieto's twin, Pat [Hope I got the first name right]
sliced and soared through the Tiger D, time and again.

Jose Escaler's twinner came after his two consecutive threes.

  The Younger Black
Aaron did well from the perimeter that afternoon.
Smooth Southpaw !

 The Younger Ravena - - - >Reloaded !!
Thirdy is taller than Kuya Kiefer, gets more boards -- not like Kuya
but occasionally Top Scores ---just like Kuya !!

The image above is a turnaround-putback from an offensive board Thirdy tenaciously fought for [and won vs two Tiger Cubs]. He converted, and was fouled.

Another Black/Ravena team-up in  another
Ateneo Champion Team ???

Had a brief chat with proud parents - Pancho & Tess Escaler [Jose's parents], post game - when 'twas raining cats and dogs [and mice] - worrying  some departing spectators temporarily.  Showed 'em my DSLR LCD and said
" Better to have Bad Weather and a Good Game than have Good Weather and a Bad Game ! "

Hope 2 C U soon -> Pancho & Tess - Post Game, AND Proud -  Ah-gain !
