Eagles Boot Out Archers - {revised}

 April 28, Thursday  - Rizal Stadium

Another Ateneo-La Salle Encounter
that goes
Down the Wire

- Both Ateneo and La Salle are a single win away from the UAAP Finals -

Is that Hector Borromeo fronting Mikko Mabanag #19 ?

Prize Rookie
Javy Gayoso

Mabanag #19 and Colet #4 try to crowd Gonzales #10.

Alcantara #16  vs  Mabanag #19

Nace Gonzales #10 and Julian Roxas #7 look to gain control
as Poe #27 and Rocha #29 watch.

Carlo Liay [not in frame] drills one in for Ateneo { 36th minute}.

Gelo [background]

Green Archer Gelo Diamante #7 equalizes the match at 1-all on the 75th minute - { have no image of that } and after the end of regulation time AND two extension periods, a penalty shoot out ensues.

Ateneo keeper JP Oracion's [game defining] deflection of Jose Montelibano's attempt[penalty shoot-out], knocks DLSU out and sends the Blue Eagles into the UAAP Finals.

Hero and King Eagle of the UAAP semis - JP Oracion - is shown in 4 sequential images above, being mobbed by his fellow Blue Eagles.

 Mona, Benjo, and Erika

 Enzo Bonoan[former UAAP Champ] and
JP Oracion [now a UAAP Finalist] have every reason to smile.

Ateneo's  Richard Palou, Coach Bob Manlulo,
 Erika Dy, Jun Dalandan, Benjo Afuang, and Mr. M Fernandez
happily oblige.

{Liay still has one playing year next season}

The Ateneo Blue Eagles and the UP Fighting Maroons clash in one
Winner-Take-All Championship Match on May 5, Thursday,
at the Rizal Stadium turf.

I snapped these images of several Fighting Maroons, after UP's W over UST just before the Ateneo - La Salle knockout match.

For the UAAP Women's Football Crown, both UP and DLSU will also
figure in one Winner-take-All mChampionship match, on the same date.
{ no images of the UP and DLSU Women's Team, are in this post }

UP Fighting Maroons Daniel Gadia and Patxie Santos [above], just enjoying a post-match moment - knowing that they're just a win away from a UAAP Championship

AWFT keepers Marianne Caparros and Kitkat Montelibano [below] share a cheerfully light post-match moment, too, on cam - well aware that their brother AMFT is also just a win away from another UAAP Championship.
