The Challenge

One Chance is All I Get

Sometimes difficult, sometimes easy to capture, sometimes very imperfect, almost perfect, sometimes super perfect ...  sometimes i have to look for it, sometimes I have to "makipag girian" with other photographers, and sometimes it just presents itself all of a sudden ! - and even at times, simply just happens in front of me  - whatever.

The more fleeting ones [those that just happen in a few seconds, Never to repeated again - more so those "private moments in a public setting"]  are the ones that challenge my skillz the most.  By skillz - I mean technical and artistic skillz synergized - as in getting the right exposure, composition !, angles, lighting, timing and all and somehow giving an image SOUL { yes - SOUL, love that word }, telling a story, and illiciting a measure of emotion.

Imperfect and "un-ideal" the scenario might be, one must be extremely alert and observant to recognize when an "elusive" / "one-chance-is-all-you-get"  moment is about to happen, or is already happening, more so, when it happens in front of you !

-----

Just 20 or so meters way from the limelight, where everybody - athletes and fans were gathered, clicking furiously away w their mobiles, point-and-shoots, and DSLRs - I simply chance upon Inna Palacios .......

[ still hurting fr the just concluded Championship Match, [May 5, Thursday, late afternoon] where DLSU lost to UP {2-1} ]

....... walking back to her bags to [most probably] to pack up.

Out of nowhere come Ateneo Lady Booters Camille Rodrguez and Nona Amoncio - and they promptly { and wholeheartedly}  hug Inna close to them.

Lift my DSLR asap ! - manage to shoot 3 frames only, before the hug was gone - and after a few pleasantries  - the girls simply went their sep ways.
[ don't think the girls even noticed me at all, which is good ]

No heavy drama  - just a fleeting poignant moment.

PS
For me to repost this image [it appears in the post just prev to this] [in color though] is an indication of how much i value this photo - being the elusive image it truly is - imperfect and all.

Still - Love It.
