August 27 at the UAAP -- VignetteS #1

Anthony  Hargrove
 { Before and After }

Two hours or SO BEFORE the FEU-DLSU game, I share a few thoughts with FEU Tamaraw Anthony Hargrove and then, just before I excuse myself, I ask Anthony to position himself behind the railing and challenge him him verbally  ---> "Who's gonna win the game ?"

He looks at me straight in the eye, put both thumbs up and said
 "FEU !"

Just seconds AFTER the Final Buzzer sounds, with FEU on top 74-70 -
I rush to mid-court to catch Anthony giving a "V" sign with his Index Finger and Pinky, give him a quick congratulatory handshake, and proceed to take candids of the Archers and Tamaraws, as they acknowledge each other for such a well-fought match.

Mike Tolomia
{ Lucky 13 }

[With about 7 seconds left] Mike Tolomia [#13] makes his first free throw, misses the second free throw, but manages to grab the offensive rebound for a quick putback to put FEU ahead by 4 [74-70]. DLSU, having no timeouts left, rushes to take a desperation shot - to no avail.

They say - Luck is when Opportunity meets Preparedness - Whatever !
Mike simply does a superb job !  What more can any coach ask for ??

Tolomia leads the Tams with 22 points, five rebounds and 3 assists.

Henri Subido
{ Not Perfect  }

This time around, my sub-title does not refer to my subject, but rather, to my 2 action photos of Tiger Rookie [#17] Henri "Renzo" Subido eluding UP Maroon [#15] Angelo Vito,  for an under goal stab.  {'Twould have been perfect if Subido's left arm/hand was in the frame, in the photo above AND if the whole basketball where included in the frame, too, in the photo below }
Right ?

UST wins this match vs UP - [77-65]. Subido scores 7 pts, hauls down 2 rebounds, dishes out 5 assists, and steals once.
