Yes, that was the year when La Salle dethroned the FEU Lady Tamarraws
{2 games to one} in a Best-of-Three Finals series which saw DLSU's Manila "Illa" Santos {#14} {photo above} claim the Finals MVP Plum.
The Lady Spikers went on to win the Season 71 UAAP Women's Volleyball Championship, on March of 2009, less than two months after these images were taken.
La Salle was dethroned by UST, the year after. The following year it was the Lady Spiker's turn to dethrone the UST Lady Tigers. That Championship started La Salle's 3-peat.
Come March of 2014, the underdog Ateneo Lady Eagles - dethroned the Lady Spikers, thus shattering La Salle's dream of a 4-peat
